Liam Newton
Liam is the clinic manager is in charge of the day to day running of the clinic and overseas the students while on placement with us in the clinic. Due to this being a teaching clinic, Liam works alongside the students as they develop on placement offering his advice and experience to ensure all patience get fantastic care within an affordable service.
Liam completed his Physiotherapy training at The University of Birmingham in 2015. After graduating, Liam worked in the NHS progressing to a Senior Physiotherapist providing a high level of care to a wide range of patients as well as running spinal and exercise rehabilitation classes. Following his time in the NHS, Liam worked at Hampshire Cricket supporting the academy and senior team delivering high level injury assessment and rehabilitation. After three seasons within cricket, Liam progressed on to work at Southampton Football Club within the highly rated academy supporting the next generation of football players.
Appointments are not exclusively with Liam, he works with the students supporting them while on placement.

Anna Turgoose
Anna qualified as a Physiotherapist from Brunel University in 1999, following this she under took a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy from University College London in 2005.
Anna’s physio career started in the NHS in London before moving into private practice in 2003. Since then, Anna has worked with many elite sporting populations including cricket, football, ballet and tennis.
Anna went on to spend many years working in elite ballet, maximising performance in both professional and pre professional dancers. She has a wealth of experience in treating sports injuries and managing complex caseloads.
More recently, Anna has trained in women’s health and has a huge passion for supporting women through their journeys, recognising the hormonal profile, life demands and progressing to achieve their goals. Anna knows that physical health and mental wellness are pivotal drivers, and always takes a holistic approach in her work. She thrives when people achieve their potential, and is highly motivated for every patient to feel nurtured, enabled and accomplished.
Away from physio, Anna has a huge passion for sport, loves the outdoors and grasps life wholeheartedly. With the juggle of family life, Anna always finds time for training. She is a keen triathlete, runner and cyclist. She has completed sprints, standard and half ironman distance triathlons. Anna fully appreciates how tough injury can be, both physically and mentally.
Sophie Gay
Sophie is a physiotherapist by background and has enjoyed a varied and diverse career in private practice and the NHS. Sophie has worked at the University since 2018, and is responsible for securing student placements across the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing.
Sophie’s role is to provide a link between the clinic and the University, ensuring that there is synergy between high-quality learning environment for students, and a high-quality service for patients
