We offer 60 minutes for first appointment to get to know you and your condition.

Frequently asked questions
What happens during my session?
The first appointment is a slightly longer appointment, where the Physiotherapist will ask a variety of questions to find out information about yourself and your condition.
Typical questions include:
How long has the condition being going on for?
Was it an injury or a long-term condition?
Have you seen a physiotherapist prior?
What makes the pain feel better or worse?
Does it have an effect on your daily life, including work and hobbies?
What is your medical history?
The objective assessment involves physically assessing the injury. This may comprise of a series of movements or exercises that will help understand the cause of the pain and create a solution to overcome it.
These two assessments help the physiotherapist to take further actions and recommend treatment, which may consist of at home exercises.
How do I ensure I get the most out of my treatment?
Listen to your body and ensure you stop with the exercise if your body is telling you it hurts too much.
Make sure you do the exercises the physiotherapist has suggested you do; therefore, you can recover quicker.
Ensure you are communicating with your physiotherapist, tell them everything about your injury and make sure you listen to all of their advice.
What should I wear?
You may be asked to move around so ensure you wear something that allows you to move, perhaps sports or gym clothing. The physiotherapist may want to see the affected area, so ensure you are wearing something that is suitable to be taken off/moved. The physiotherapist will make sure you feel comfortable at all times.
Does it hurt?
Some treatments may cause slight discomfort, but it should not be intolerable. Your physiotherapist will answer any questions you may have and they will let you know if any movement may cause you discomfort.
How long do sessions last?
The consultation appointment will last 1 hour long.
The follow-up appointment will last 30 minutes.
Due to this being a teaching clinic we might run over the allocated time, please make us aware of any time pressures and we can work with you.
Can I bring someone with me?
You are welcome to bring someone along with you, a chaperone is mandatory for under 16 or someone with additional needs.
Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available in the main carpark in front of the building. Make sure you upload your number plate on the iPad in reception, giving you 4 free hours of parking.
How will payment be taken?
The payment will be taken at the end of the appointment, we accept card only (no American Express).
Where do I go once I have arrived?
Walk through the glass doors at the front of the building and turn left. Walk past the membership area and go around the corner, following signs for hydrotherapy and physiotherapy. You will see a smaller reception area, take a seat and a physiotherapist will come find you. Alternatively, ask at the main reception and they will head you in the right direction.
